NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

This list provides a condensed overview of some of my most most notable achievements as a professional working in the music industry with live events, major labels, and more.  Though I’ve accomplished much more than this listing these are the ones I’m most proud of as a professional in the entertainment industry.

2022

  • Finalized sale as agent and negotiator for the sale of the B MOVIES ARCHIVE (Scott B & Beth B) and the BETH B SOLO ARCHIVE sales to Fales Library Special Collections, New York University.


2021

  • Coordinator and producer for the third annual Transgressive Cultures Conference at the University of Chicago in Paris


2020

  • Represented artist Lydia Lunch and film director Richard Kern in a successful copyright infringement case.

  • Hired by film directors Beth B and Scott B to oversee the sales of their career archives.

 

2019

  • Secured a world-wide music publishing administration deal for Lydia Lunch with Kassner Music Publishing Ltd. for her publishing company WIDOWSPEAK, which I originally established and administered since 1998.

  • Co-cordinator for the 2nd annual Transgressive Cultures Conference at the University of Chicago in Paris.  Delivered paper presentation “Thoughts on Reading Sade” and showed premiered self-created short art film, “A Baroque Grotesque.”

  • Acquired, negotiated and finalized the sale of Lydia Lunch's archives to Bobst Library, New York University, New York.  The sale received international media attention.

 

2018

  • Production Coordinator on behalf of Lydia Lunch for The Kitchen, New York, gala charity honours event for Lydia Lunch and Nan Goldin, taking place in New York in May 2018. Coordinating promotional events, film segment, artwork exhibition, and marketing materials.

 

  • Hired to write liner notes for Tora Augestad and the Oslo Philharmonic's "Portraying Passion" CD. 2019 Norwegian Grammy Winner. (Spellemannsprisen 2019).

 

  • Coordinator for Lydia Lunch's appearance on Anthony Bourdain's tv show, "Parts Unknown", CNN Broadcasting.  Lydia Lunch.  Contract negotiator, coordinator.

 

2017

  • Licensing of Trademark name and image to Hysteric Glamour, Tokyo, Japan for clothing featuring Lydia Lunch.  For the Artist.  Contractual Negotiator.

  • Hired by film director Beth B to conduct the music licensing and placement for her documentary film “Lydia Lunch: The War is Never Over.”

 

2016

  • Asked to become a member of the Board of Advisors for Some Serious Business, Abiquiu, New Mexico, USA.  Invited to join as an advisor. Some Serious BusinessAdvisor and contractual negotiations for arts agency; prepared agreements between company and Italian host residency for artists; contracts for Joe's Pub in New York City.

 

2006

  • Produced the Norwegian band Einmal Kommt die Liebe’s “Røversanger”

 

  • Executive Producer for Norwegian classical violinist Arve Tellefesen’s “Aria.”

 

2007

  • Produced and curated the 2-CD “best of” compilation for Lydia Lunch, titled “Deviations on a Theme,” recognized today as the best compilation of her work. 

  • Coordinator for Lydia Lunch's performance and art exhition curated by Bjarne Melgaard, "You Always Move In Reverse", Leon Koenig Gallery.

 

2004

  • Travelled to Berlin, Germany, on a research grant to prepare for the recording of “Sound and Smoke: The Music of the Berlin Cabaret Era.”  Producer, project initiator.

 

2003

  • Annie Sprinkle, "Herstory of Porn" performance art shows.  Sentrum Scene (Oslo) and BIT-Teatergarasjen (Bergen).  WildStar World / BIT-Teatergarasjen; Producer, Creative Director, Marketing & Promotion. Sold Out shows.  The events created a media storm nationally.

 

2002

  • Hired by Utenriksdepartement (The Foreign Ministry of Norway) to book and oversee the Silje Nergaard Cultural Ambassador Tour of Germany with HRH Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway;  Producer, Booking Agent, Tour Manager.  Official represenation as cultural ambassador for Norway tour.

 

1999

  • Secured a recording contract for Morten Gunnar Larsen with Decca Records in London, which resulted in the “Fingerbreaker” CD.   Also promoted the release concert at Gamle Logen, which was the first time in the hall’s history they had experienced ticket-scalpers selling higher-priced tickets outside the hall.

 

1998 -  Today

  • Managed and advised artist Lydia Lunch to become a thriving independent artist in a difficult environment, and to expand her career internationally. 

 

1998-2004

  • Signed an agreement with singer/songwriter Silje Nergaard to manage her career.  Termed “a dead artist” in the industry, I secured a recording agreement with Universal Music on their condition that I oversee all marketing and promotion for my client – hired by them as an external advisor (a first in that company's history).   This resulted in her first album entering the charts at no. 6, and the next two entering at no. 1, with all three titles achieving Platinum Sales status.   My management skills succeeded in strategies to promote this “dead artist” into becoming one of Norway’s biggest stars, and the 2nd best-selling jazz artist in Europe.  Toured world-wide and booked and managed her Asia Tour.

 

1996-98

  • Head-hunted by NGM Ltd. (Oslo and London) to become Executive Producer of live events, tours, concerts, and musicals.  NGM is Dame Kiri Te Kanawa’s personal management, and I produced a number of live stadium concerts featuring her, as well as Shirley Bassey, Arve Tellefsen, The King’s Consort, Vladamir Ashkenazy, John Williams, Solveig Kringlebotn, and many others, as well as musicals such as “Chess”, “Evita”, “Fame” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” performed in Oslo Spektrum (breaking all existing records for ticket sales in Oslo Spektrum), and produced The Russian State Ballet in Oslo and Dublin.   Toured with many internationally recognized musicians in the “Master Pianists” series. 

 

1994 - 96

  • Head-hunted by Sony Music, begins employment as head of Sony Classics and Columbia Jazz for Sony Music Norway AS.  Label Manager, Head of Classics and Jazz.  First recording project was Placido Domingo, Charles Aznavour, Sissel Kyrkjebø "Christmas in Vienna III".  Travelled to Vienna with a press entourage for the live recording.   Marketing, Promotion; Press coordinator in Vienna.  No. 2 best selling album of 1995 in Norway.  Went on to achieve profits in every year I worked for them.

 

1991-94

  • Hired by PolyGram AS in Oslo to become label manager for the record label Polydor.  Marketed and promoted several no. 1 albums and singles, before changing labels to Philips Classics and Verve Jazz.  Neither had ever made a profit in PolyGram Norway’s history until I led these into profits in every successive year.
